Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng: The friendship between China and the United States forged by blood and fire has always been an inexhaustible source of the development of Sino-US relations

On August 20, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in the United States and China Central Radio and Television jointly held an image and art exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Ambassador Xie Feng attended and delivered a speech.

Xie Feng said that the Doolittle air strike, as a landmark battle on the Pacific battlefield in World War II, has been recorded in history, but the Doolittle operation rescue is even more touching. After Japan's sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, 16 American bombers rushed to Japan. Due to insufficient fuel, they forced a landfall in Zhejiang and Jiangxi. Chinese military and civilians risked their lives to rescue the American pilot who met by chance. They were frantically retaliated against the Japanese army and even inhumane bacterial war, and 250,000 Chinese civilians were killed. The friendship between China and the United States, forged by blood and fire, has been a time-consuming and innovative source of the development of China-US relations. It always reminds us that China and the United States should become partners and friends, achieve each other and benefit the world; it reminds us that we will not forget the deep friendship formed in the war years, unswerving the heart of peaceful coexistence, and not aspire to win-win cooperation.
