Local media in Xiangyang reported that Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. Casting Branch (“Dongfeng Casting Branch”) will undergo an overall relocation at the end of next year. At present, the new plant project of Dongfeng Casting Branch, located in the Automobile Industrial Park of Xiangyang High-tech Zone, Hubei, is undergoing underground construction. The main construction of the new plant is expected to be completed by the end of this year, with production capacity at the end of next year, and Dongfeng Casting Branch will be relocated as a whole.
Dongfeng Foundry Branch was established in October 1984 and put into production in May 1989, with a casting capacity of more than 50,000 tons. It was the first casting plant of Dongfeng Company in Xiangyang to put into operation. The total investment of this relocation and renovation project is 800 million yuan, and the project was officially approved in 2018.
