Qilu Evening News reported that according to Festo Group’s strategic development plan, China will be the focus of its future market development. The Jinan plant will be built into Festo’s largest production base in the world, and most of the group’s key products and planned new products will be located in Jinan. It is estimated that by 2025, the output of the Jinan plant will be 9-10 times that of 2016.
It is understood that the German-owned Festo Group is a global leader in the field of automation technology, focusing on providing pneumatic and electric drive products and solutions. As optimistic about the Chinese market, Festo established a sales company in Shanghai as early as 1993. At the beginning of 2007, Festo settled in Jinan High-tech Zone and established Festo Pneumatic Co., Ltd., which expanded the Chinese market and gradually developed into the largest production center of Festo Group in China.

In 2017, with the support of the “replacement of cages for industry” policy in Jinan High-tech Zone, Festo retired its old factory on Fenghuang Road and built a global production center covering an area of 650 acres in the Intelligent Equipment City of Jinan High-tech East District. The new plant has not only expanded its production capacity, but also achieved automation upgrades. In the future, it will become the world’s largest production base of the Festo Group.

On April 21 this year, the first and second phases of the Festo Jinan Global Production Center were opened and put into operation. The project is a smart factory built by Festo Group in accordance with the “Industry 4.0” standard, and the third phase of the project will be built next. After the project is completed as a whole, it will become the largest and most technologically advanced production center of the Festo Group in the world, as well as the largest logistics base of the Festo Group in the world.
The Festo Jinan Global Production Center is an intelligent manufacturing base and automated logistics system built by Festo in China. It covers an area of approximately 430,000 square meters and has intelligent production workshops, automated logistics centers, and dual training centers. In the core area, the product supply range includes core products such as valves, cylinders, electric cylinders and air pipes, as well as cutting-edge technology products.

According to reports, the die-casting workshop of Festo’s new plant has been automated, with three fully automatic production units, and this year will also introduce the automation unit of the visual recognition system. By 2025, the factory’s die-casting workshop and surface treatment workshop will be built into a black lamp workshop, realizing unmanned production.
