  On May 28, the first UHVDC transmission project in China using hybrid cascade converter technology – Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800 kV UHV DC Transmission Project (hereinafter referred to as “Baijiang Project”) bipolar high-end converter When electrified for the first time, the converter valve equipment supplied by Xuji Electric was successfully unlocked at one time, successfully completed the OLT test, and successfully assisted the bipolar high-end converter to start power transmission, which is a key step for the project to be fully completed and put into operation.

  

  Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800kV UHV DC project is a key project in my country’s implementation of the “West-to-East Power Transmission” strategy. It undertakes the important task of transporting clean energy from the Baihetan Hydropower Station, the world’s largest hydropower station under construction, to Jiangsu. The total length of the project line is 2087 kilometers. , starting from Butuo Converter Station (sending side) in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and ending at Gusu Converter Station (receiving side), Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. After completion and operation, it is expected to reduce coal transportation by 13.75 million tons and carbon dioxide emissions every year. 27 million tons and 68,000 tons of sulfur dioxide are of great strategic significance for leading technological innovation, optimizing energy allocation, and promoting green development.

  Xuji Electric adopts the most advanced UHV converter valve technology to provide bipolar high-end converter valve equipment for the Gusu converter station at the receiving end of the Baijiang Project. As the strong “heart” of the DC transmission system, the converter valve can realize the flexible conversion of AC and DC power, and provide powerful kinetic energy for the long-distance and reliable transmission of clean hydropower in Baihetan.

  

  The towering trees are not achieved in one day, and the construction of the Suzhou converter station is not achieved overnight.

  New Year’s Day just passed, the new year began. The sudden outbreak of the epidemic made the streets of Xuchang deserted, as if the “pause button” was pressed, but the Xu Jibaijiang project on-site project team packed up their bags and set off for the retrograde expedition to the site of the Suzhou converter station. Under the circumstance of tight schedule, heavy tasks, and epidemic prevention that cannot be relaxed, the project team actively responded to the call for the goal of “unchanged plans, unextended goals, and undiminished quality”, and insisted on keeping both scientific epidemic prevention and on-site services. In order to avoid the epidemic prevention and isolation that may be brought about by returning home during the Spring Festival from affecting the progress of the project, Du Yuge, the on-site project manager, took the lead in fulfilling the responsibility of party members and resolutely decided not to return home during the Spring Festival. In this way, two valve halls, six working faces, 96 valve components, 1968 optical fibers, 26376 screws… Every day from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, a hundred-day battle of installation and commissioning was launched for the Gusu converter station. . These young people, whose average age is less than 32 years old, are not afraid of the severe epidemic situation and difficult working and living environment. With the responsibility of the work, the will and the task, the holiday and the construction period, we have a lot of energy in our hearts, we have to fight a tough battle, but also to win the battle, this tough battle of Baijiang Project, we will win!

  As the on-site project manager of the Suzhou converter station, Du Yuge just finished his overseas project assignment in Turkey at the end of 2021. He arrived home less than a month ago, and the Baijiang project is about to begin. On-site itinerary. At the time of the fierce battle in the cold winter, Du Yuge has been sticking to the front line of the construction site, working overtime every day to ensure quality, rush the construction period, and vigorously promote the construction of the project.

  

  On May 6, the on-site team of Xuji Electric completed the installation and commissioning of all bipolar high-end converter valve equipment on schedule.

  On May 13, the converter valve and valve control equipment passed the final acceptance of the inspection unit at one time, and were highly affirmed by all the units on site. The on-site team of Xuji Electric worked hard for more than two months, and successfully “snatched” back the more than one-month construction period affected by the epidemic.

  

  On May 28th, the bipolar high-end converter valve supplied by Xuji Electric ushered in the first big test. Han Kun, deputy general manager of Xuji Electric’s flexible power transmission branch, went retrograde to command the scene under the severe situation of Xuchang’s counterattack of the epidemic.
