Volkswagen’s new plant in Germany will introduce integrated die-casting technology

Reference News Network reported that according to the German “Business Daily” website recently reported that in order to produce a new generation of electric vehicles (Trinity project), Volkswagen will build a brand new factory in Wolfsburg, Germany, where the group headquarters are located. The CEO of the Volkswagen brand Ralph Brandstedt said not long ago: “The establishment of this new plant is the most promising choice.” For the establishment of this project, the Volkswagen Group’s Supervisory Board will hold its meeting on December 9th. Make a decision.

The new plant is expected to start producing the first batch of Trinity pure electric vehicles from 2026. After implementation, the existing old plant will be rebuilt to enable it to produce electric vehicles. The four production lines of the existing plant mainly manufacture two cars, Golf and Tiguan.

According to reports, the current car body is still assembled and welded by a large number of steel plates and aluminum plates, and the integrated die-casting technology can avoid the use of single plates, thereby improving the company’s production efficiency. Volkswagen intends to introduce this technology into the Trinity project, and Tesla also plans to adopt a similar production method at the Greenheide plant near Berlin, Germany. Brandstedt firmly believes that Volkswagen, with a new factory, can survive the competition with Tesla or Chinese car companies. After the completion of the new plant, it is estimated that it will be possible to produce one car in 10 hours.
