China News Service, Hunan News, December 23 (Lu Yi and Deng Heming) On December 23, the 7th China Foundry Industry Cluster Annual Conference and Industrial Cluster Innovation and Development Experience Exchange Conference was held in Jiahe County, Hunan Province. Experts from China’s foundry industry, industrial clusters and business representatives gathered to discuss industry development trends and share innovative experience.
This conference was hosted by China Foundry Association and undertaken by Jiahe County People’s Government. The purpose of the conference is to promote the transformation experience of characteristic clusters, build an exchange platform for the development of industrial clusters, guide the foundry industrial clusters to adapt to relevant national policy requirements, gradually build an industrial cluster ecosystem, and achieve green and smart development.
Jiahe casting and forging started in the Qin and Han dynasties, and after thousands of years of inheritance and development, it has become more prosperous and developed. In recent years, Jiahe County Party Committee and County Government have conscientiously implemented the new development concept, vigorously implemented the transformation and upgrading of the foundry industry, and actively promoted the transformation of traditional casting to precision casting, showing a good situation of industrial upgrading and booming production and sales.
Huang Zhong, secretary of the Jiahe County Party Committee, introduced that there are currently 116 foundry enterprises in the county, including 103 enterprises above designated size, 26 high-tech enterprises, and more than 50 enterprises with an output value of over 100 million yuan. The annual output of castings is 2 million tons, accounting for Hunan Province. One third of the total amount of castings, the products are exported to Europe, America, Africa, Southeast Asia and other places. Jiahe County has been awarded the honorary titles of “National Casting Industry Cluster Pilot County”, “Hunan Foundry Industry Base”, and “Jiangnan Casting Capital”.
Zhang Libo, vice chairman of China Machinery Industry Federation and chairman of China Foundry Association, pointed out at the meeting that China’s foundry industry is in a critical period of transformation, upgrading and high-quality development. Facing the new requirements of carbon peaks, carbon neutral goals, and the dual impact of the new crown epidemic and the Sino-US trade war, the foundry industry needs to keep pace with the times and clarify the development direction of the industry with high-quality development.
In recent years, Jiahe County has taken precision casting and mechanical equipment manufacturing as the county’s first industry to focus on building a precision casting industry cluster with advanced domestic standards, and fully promoting industry rectification and upgrading. Foundry companies are moving towards technology leadership, green ecology, and healthy development. The road of sustainable development advances.
Huang Zhong said that Jiahe will take this conference as an opportunity to actively serve and integrate into the new domestic and international dual-cycle development pattern, anchor the direction of precision casting, unswervingly develop equipment manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing, and accelerate the construction of technological innovation that combines production, education and research.
