Advanced manufacturing is one of the “two major industries” established by Weifang City. Casting is the foundation and indispensable link of equipment manufacturing industry. The foundry industry in our city has a large scale, many varieties and strong supporting capabilities. It has formed a complete industrial chain from foundry equipment, raw and auxiliary materials, shared platforms, production enterprises to mechanical equipment, which has an important influence in the province and even the whole country. The municipal party committee and municipal government have always attached great importance to the development of green foundry industry, and took the lead in carrying out the transformation and upgrading of foundry enterprises in the province. A number of experts have provided on-site guidance and pulse consultation to more than 400 foundry enterprises in the city. 290 foundry companies were shut down, and the city’s foundry companies were consolidated from more than 780 to 500. Four high-end service platforms including the provincial digital green casting technology and equipment innovation service platform and the National Intelligent Foundry Industry Innovation (Weifang) Center have been built, as well as four foundry parks including Changyi Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park and Hanting Green Seiko Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park. , cultivated 10 green casting enterprises, and promoted the “Weifang Model” and “Fangzi Model” nationwide. In 2021, according to preliminary statistics, the foundry industry will achieve an output value of 36 billion yuan, ranking first in the province, with an increase of 14%. The foundry industry has embarked on a more standardized and higher-quality development path.

At present, the factor conditions and allocation methods of economic development have undergone profound changes, and the hard constraints faced by industrial development have increased significantly. Carbon peaking and carbon neutralization have become an important framework for my country’s medium and long-term development, which has put forward new and higher requirements for the development of the foundry industry. The official establishment of the Green Foundry Industry Alliance is a major event in the development history of the foundry industry in our city. It will strengthen the supporting cooperation between enterprises, integrate the strength of administrative organs, industry associations, market players, and all sectors of society, improve the ecosystem that runs through the industrial chain, innovation chain, supply chain, and capital chain, and promote industrial synergy and complementarity.
