SAIC Zhengzhou Engine Branch was established in May 2019, and will produce a series of high-efficiency and energy-saving engines with completely independent intellectual property rights and reaching the world’s first-class level. The first phase of the project has a construction area of about 40,000 square meters and an annual production capacity of 300,000 units, covering 4 automated production lines for engine cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankshaft machining lines and engine assembly lines. At present, the first phase of the project has entered the trial production stage, and it is planned to be officially put into mass production at the end of April this year. In addition to meeting the production needs of the Zhengzhou base, the GS6 series engines produced by SAIC Zhengzhou Engine Branch will also be supplied to Nanjing, Lingang and Ningde bases in the future, and will go global with SAIC Motor’s international business layout.
Since the third plant of SAIC Passenger Vehicles settled in Zhengzhou in 2017, dozens of projects including SAIC Zhengzhou Engine Branch have been accelerated to take root and grow. Vehicle factories, SAIC software centers, global data centers, parts clusters, new Energy recycling industry, engine plant and other projects have been deployed and developed in Zhengzhou one after another.
