The first domestic high-voltage outer cylinder of a new 1000MW nuclear power unit is “freshly released”

Recently, the first set of new 1000MW nuclear power high-voltage outer cylinder castings in China for a project undertaken by Erzhong Equipment, the governing unit of China Foundry Association, have completed heat treatment for performance and successfully entered the machining process. It once again demonstrated the company’s extreme manufacturing advantages in providing major technical equipment for the construction of major national projects, especially the manufacture of extra-large products.

The 1000MW nuclear power high-voltage outer cylinder is composed of upper and lower half cylinder blocks. The total weight of the product exceeds 250 tons. It is the largest cylinder in weight and outline size produced by the company so far. Due to the particularity of the material, the requirements for mechanical properties are high, and the inspection standards are extremely strict. At present, there is no relevant production experience at home and abroad for reference, and it is extremely difficult to manufacture.

In order to solve the production and manufacturing problems of 1000MW nuclear power high-voltage outer cylinder, the casting and forging institute formed a nuclear power casting team, relying on the strong comprehensive technical capabilities of the National Engineering Laboratory, the stable quality assurance system of the casting and forging production line and the rich casting manufacturing experience, from the casting process plan. Feasibility analysis, material composition optimization, digital simulation of casting deformation, physical and chemical performance testing of body casings, and the formation of a complete material feeding production plan have effectively guaranteed product quality, accelerated the development and manufacturing process of extra-large nuclear power cylinders, and continued to enrich the company. Oversized castings, especially the nuclear power cylinder manufacturing pedigree, have added a highly representative success example.
