The Pingshan County branch was established at the site of the 5 million tons/year scrap steel processing and recycling project of Hebei Fushan Recycling Resources Recovery Co., Ltd. Zhang Qianfeng, Secretary of the Pingshan County Party Committee, Jin Jun, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Mayor, Mi Feng, Member of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee and Executive Deputy County Mayor, and Li Huiming, General Manager of Jingye Group attended the event.
Zhang Qianfeng, secretary of the county party committee, reported to the main venue of the city through cloud video the expected completion of economic indicators in the second quarter of 2022 in Pingshan County and the current centralized construction. According to statistics, in the second quarter, the county started 26 projects with a total investment of 4.01 billion yuan, including 9 industrial projects with a total investment of 2.98 billion yuan.
After the event, Feng Lixin, deputy director of the County Development and Reform Bureau, introduced the 5 million tons of scrap steel processing project to reporters. After the project is completed, it can recycle and process 5 million tons of scrap steel every year, realize operating income of 20.275 billion yuan, pay taxes of 440 million yuan, and arrange labor and employment for 500 people.
As the only steelmaking raw material that can replace iron ore, scrap iron and steel is particularly important for the transformation and upgrading of the iron and steel industry and the promotion of energy conservation and emission reduction. Using scrap steel to produce 1 ton of steel can reduce about 1.6 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and about 3 tons of solid waste emissions. After the project is put into operation, it can help the steel industry reduce 8 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year. It is a good project to complete the “dual carbon goal”. .
