ZF auto chassis parts system project settled in Zhangjiagang

Recently, at the cloud signing of foreign-funded projects in Jiangsu Province and the “Cloud Awarding” activity of foreign-funded headquarters enterprises, ZF’s auto chassis parts system project was signed and settled in Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone (Yangshe Town). The project is invested and constructed by the global automobile transmission system giant, the German ZF Group.

According to reports, the ZF auto chassis parts system project has a total investment of 100 million US dollars (1 US dollar = 6.6698 yuan), a registered capital of 30 million US dollars, covers an area of 58 acres, and mainly produces automotive chassis parts systems. The project will start land bidding, auction, and plant construction in October this year, and is expected to be officially put into production in early 2024.

Since 2014, as one of the important achievements of the Economic and Technological Development Zone in attracting investment in recent years, the ZF Zhangjiagang production base has continued to grow. The first phase of the active and passive safety system project, the second phase of the electronic power steering system and integrated brake control system project, the third phase of the chassis parts project, and the fourth phase of the chassis parts system project have been implemented successively. The Zhangjiagang base has a total investment of about 400 million US dollars and covers an area of 330 mu. In view of the development trend and importance of the base, the board of directors of ZF Group nominated Zhangjiagang as the “ZF Global Lighthouse Factory”, striving to become a global benchmark enterprise in production automation, Industry 4.0, and intelligent manufacturing.

Wang Runyi, President of ZF China and Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific Operations, said that Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone (Yangshe Town) has an excellent business environment, a well-developed industrial chain, and abundant human resources. The main reason for the expansion.

It is understood that ZF (ZF) is a global technology company dedicated to providing mobility system solutions for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and industrial technology. Its business covers four technical fields of vehicle motion control, integrated safety system, autonomous driving and electric drive. Since entering China in 1981, ZF Group has now set up its Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Shanghai and has two R&D centers. In addition, the company has established manufacturing plants in major cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Changchun, and Shenyang, bringing all ZF’s global advanced technologies into China.

Stefan von Schuckmann, a member of the board of directors of Germany’s ZF Group, previously said that the “dual carbon goal” established by China is very ambitious, and ZF will actively participate in it and cooperate with China to achieve this goal. Talking about the discussions around “decoupling”, he emphasized that ZF not only has no intention to leave the Chinese market, but is also full of expectations for the group’s development prospects in China, and will continue to invest in China.
