On June 20, Yunhai Metal announced that the company and Chongqing University signed the “Cooperative Research and Development Agreement on High Performance Magnesium Alloy Materials for Body Integrated Structural Die Casting” in Chongqing. According to the agreement, the cooperation goal of this project is to cooperate in the development of high-performance magnesium alloy materials for die-casting of body-integrated structural parts, and to jointly use it for body-integrated structural parts to achieve mass production. The cooperation contents mainly include:
1. Material development. Design optimization of magnesium alloy materials required for body-integrated structural parts.
2. Process optimization. The two parties cooperated to carry out process simulation optimization of magnesium alloy body integrated structural parts, melt purification during the manufacturing process, structure and performance control, defect control, heat treatment system and other process formulations, as well as production plan demonstration.
3. Structural design and mold design. The two parties cooperated to carry out mold parameter design, process simulation and structural optimization of high-precision and complex die-casting products of magnesium alloy body integrated structural parts.
4. Mass production. The two parties cooperated to carry out the mass production, quality control and promotion and application of magnesium alloy body integrated structural parts.
According to the agreement, the two parties cooperate in the declaration of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and special financial projects, and cooperate in the declaration of patents, standards and specifications. The intellectual property rights of the project are jointly owned by both parties, and both parties and their affiliates can use it free of charge. Any major aspects of licensing to other third parties need to be approved by Yunhai Metal. If the cooperation results are transferred to a third party, the two parties shall negotiate and determine the distribution plan of the transfer income.
According to the agreement, Chongqing University is responsible for material development and process optimization, and Yunhai Metal cooperates with Chongqing University to carry out related work and provide necessary relevant data and materials for the research project. Yunhai Metal is responsible for product structure design, mold design and mass production. Chongqing University cooperates with Yunhai Metal to carry out related work and provide technical support and reasonable suggestions.
