On September 16, at the 2025 Tencent Global Digital Ecology Conference, in order to accelerate the implementation of AI in thousands of industries and the cultivation of innovative talents, Tencent officially launched the “AI Application Prosperity Plan”, in which the “AI Hundred Schools Tour” for the national talent training and literacy improvement was launched simultaneously; combined with Tencent's leading AI technology and the AI practice closest to the industry, it will provide free technology popularization, practical experience and innovation competition series that fit real scenarios to 100 universities across the country to help college students build future competitiveness. Representatives from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Southeast University, South China University of Technology, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, Shenzhen University, City University of Hong Kong, Xuetang Online and other universities attended and participated in the launching ceremony.
Tang Daosheng, senior executive vice president of Tencent Group and CEO of the Cloud and Smart Industry Group, said that as AI technology moves towards multi-scenario application, AI literacy and practical application capabilities have become core essential skills for college students. Tencent’s “AI Hundred Schools Tour” event hopes to work with the majority of college students to embrace the AI wave together, build a platform for students to participate in industry, academia and research practices and empower growth.
Shi Mei, vice president of Tencent Cloud and head of Tencent Education, introduced that the “AI Hundred Schools Tour” will use the “Tencent College AI Carnival” as the event carrier, aiming to build a comprehensive platform for college students that integrates technology popularization, practical experience and innovative competitions. It also plans to provide college students with a full range of AI learning experiences for college students, including the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao.
The first stop of the “AI Hundred Schools Tour” was successfully held at Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology in early September, attracting more than a thousand teachers and students to participate; freshmen use AI tools such as Tencent Yuanbao and Ima to quickly master campus learning and life information, greatly improving the efficiency of understanding and integration into university life.
The AI Application Experience Exhibition module designs creative interactive links around leading AI products such as Tencent Yuanbao, ima knowledge base, Tencent cloud intelligent development platform, Tencent Documents, QQ browsers, etc., to provide students with an immersive learning experience. Here, students can experience practical functions such as AI search, question-taking and answering questions, and AI writing, and experience the practical application value of AI technology in learning and life.
Tencent’s AI technology and product experts came to the campus and used the “first AI open class in the school year” as a carrier to present students with a knowledge feast that is both cutting-edge and practical. The AI Open Course aims to bring the most cutting-edge AI technology dynamics to college teachers and students, as well as practical AI skills close to college learning and life. It covers the development trends of big model technology, AI application practice cases in various industries, as well as the progress of Tencent Hunyuan big model's biographical pictures, 3D, and video. It also has rich AI application secrets, which can help students understand industrial technology practice, master AI practical skills, and improve learning and scientific research efficiency.
In the AI training camp module, students can participate in many AI application events such as Tencent Cloud Hacking Spur, AI hands-on laboratory and other training courses, and can also participate in innovative activities such as IMA college students' AI knowledge base collection, Tencent Hunyuan 3D University Creative Design Competition. Through these practical competitions, students can not only stimulate innovation potential and improve application development capabilities, but also accumulate experience in actual combat and accumulate practical skills for future career development.
The preliminary competition of the 2025 Tencent Cloud Hacking Song Competition has been held simultaneously in 10 universities. The participating teams have completed the development of intelligent applications and creative works based on the AI Agent capabilities of Tencent Cloud Intelligent Development Platform, combined with CloudStudio, CodeBuddy IDE and other tools. 14 teams from 10 universities were finally shortlisted after fierce competition in the early stage. The final will be held at the Tencent Global Digital Ecology Conference on September 18.
Tencent will also join forces with many universities across the country to launch the “Yuanbao Cup·National College AI Debate Competition” that integrates AI practice, inspiring young students to think deeply about AI technology through innovative competition systems and improve their application capabilities. As the “fifth debater”, Tencent Yuanbao participated in the offensive and defensive training for the preparation competition, and engaged in a thinking confrontation with human debaters in free debate and other aspects. A “Yuanbao Campus Defense Store” experience area is specially set up outside the venue. Students can use the “Search, Read, Write, Practice” and other functions of the Yuanbao APP to deal with practical problems such as school opening strategies, job interviews, oral training. This series of innovative events that integrate technological thinking and AI practice aims to help young students master cutting-edge AI skills while cultivating rational thinking and humanistic care.
