Xu Renrui, former vice president of the China Foundry Association, former party secretary and director of the Shenyang Foundry Research Institute, died in Shenyang on February 20, 2026 at the age of 86 due to ineffective treatment for illness. During his tenure as the director of Shenyang Foundry Research Institute, Xu Renrui presided over and participated in major projects such as the 863 Plan, the 973 Plan, and the Three Gorges Project, making historic contributions to the development of my country's aerospace, marine military industry, water conservancy, and hydropower.
