From December 22 to 24, the three-day 7th China Foundry Industry Cluster Annual Conference and Industrial Cluster Innovation and Development Experience Exchange Conference was held in Jiahe County, Hunan Province. The purpose of the conference is to promote the transformation experience of characteristic clusters, build an exchange platform for the development of industrial clusters, guide the foundry industrial clusters to adapt to relevant national policy requirements, gradually build an industrial cluster ecosystem, and achieve green and smart development.
Huang Zhong, secretary of the Jiahe County Party Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Jiahe Casting started in the Qin and Han dynasties, and has become more prosperous and developed after thousands of years of inheritance and development. In recent years, Jiahe County Party Committee and County Government have conscientiously implemented the new development concept, vigorously implemented the transformation and upgrading of the foundry industry, and actively promoted the transformation of traditional casting to precision casting, showing a good situation of industrial upgrading and booming production and sales. At present, there are 116 foundry enterprises in the county, including 103 enterprises above designated size, 26 high-tech enterprises, and more than 50 enterprises with an output value of more than 100 million yuan. The annual output of castings is 2 million tons, accounting for a third of the total castings in Hunan Province. One of the strongest, the products are exported to more than 20 countries and regions in Europe, America, Africa, Southeast Asia and so on. Jiahe County has been awarded the honorary titles of “National Foundry Industry Cluster Pilot County”, “Hunan Foundry Industry Base”, “Jiangnan Foundry Capital” and other honorary titles. “Hunan Foundry Craftsman (Jiahe County)” was awarded the “My Most Concerned Labor Service Brand” in the country. In recent years, Jiahe County has fully implemented the Hunan Provincial Party Committee’s “Three Highs and Four New” strategic positioning and missions, and the Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee’s “One Pole and Six Districts” strategy. Equipment manufacturing is the first industry to focus on, build a domestically advanced precision casting industry cluster, and make every effort to promote industry rectification and upgrading. Foundry companies are moving on the path of technology-led, green ecology, and healthy and sustainable development.
Chen Jun, Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hunan Province, pointed out that the equipment manufacturing industry in Hunan Province has achieved rapid development in recent years, especially in the fields of construction machinery and rail transportation. The requirements also provide a broader space for the development of the foundry industry.
Zhang Libo, vice president of China Machinery Industry Federation and president of China Foundry Association, pointed out in his speech that China Foundry Association has been committed to cultivating and building characteristic foundry industry clusters, striving to change the status quo of unbalanced development of industrial clusters and weak overall competitiveness. The existing “industrial clusters” are transformed and developed into “industrial clusters.”
The conference invited industry experts and industry cluster representatives to give keynote reports on industry development trends, industrial rectification and upgrading, and cluster service platform construction, and share advanced experience. The meeting also held the re-appointment of the industrial cluster working committee, industry commendation and strategic cooperation signing ceremony. Participants visited and exchanged views with local enterprises in Jiahe County.
