Compared with similar products in the world, this product has the characteristics of good compatibility and high technical content, filling the gap of this technology in China.
The 8AT automatic transmission project is a high-end equipment manufacturing project introduced by Tangshan Aisin Gear from its Japanese headquarters. In May 2019, in response to changes in the automotive market, Aisin Group decided to upgrade the 6AT project just completed by Tangshan Aisin Gear to the most technologically advanced 8AT project, which is designed to provide supporting facilities for mid-to-high-end models at home and abroad. Through the use of brand-new structure and manufacturing technology, the production efficiency of the transmission has been significantly improved, and more green processing has been achieved.
“The focus of the new transmission lies in the targeted design of the transmission efficiency related to fuel consumption. The addition of many cutting-edge technologies greatly improves the transmission efficiency and makes it have excellent fuel economy. At the same time, it adopts a new shift control method. It improves the acceleration performance of the car and realizes a better driving feeling.” said Mi Tao, chief of the AT manufacturing section of Tangshan Aisin Gear Co., Ltd. In a road condition test, the performance of the transmission can fully meet the design requirements and customer needs. Therefore, Changan Automobile and Tangshan Aisin Gear quickly signed a supply contract.
The company’s deputy general manager Yuan Zhensheng told reporters that, as the most advanced global strategic product, the 8AT automatic transmission project is located in Fengrun District, Tangshan City. This is the first time that this product has been produced outside of Japan. The project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and a total construction area of 91510 square meters. It will be constructed in two phases. At present, the first phase of the project has been completed and put into production, with an annual production capacity of 120,000 8AT automatic transmissions. After the second phase of the project is put into production in May next year, the production capacity can meet the market demand of 320,000 units per year. It is estimated that in 2022, the company’s annual sales revenue will exceed 4 billion yuan, the annual tax increase will be 150 million yuan, the annual use of foreign capital will be 500 million yuan, and more than 800 local jobs will be placed.
It is understood that more than 70% of the production of accessories for this product comes from China, which will promote the development and production of the domestic automobile market to the high-end field, and drive the rapid development of the automobile industry and related supporting industries.
