According to the Global Casting Production Survey conducted by the Modern Casting Magazine of the American Foundry Association, due to the impact of the new coronavirus COVID-19, in 2020, the production of castings in other countries and regions in the world except China will be reported to decrease.
In 2020, due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, all parts of the world will be affected by the shutdown policy. Among the countries and regions that accept the general survey of casting output, almost all countries and regions have reported a significant decline in output. The only exception is China. China was affected by the new crown epidemic earlier than most countries, but recovered quickly afterwards. Its total casting output was 51.95 million tons, an increase of 6.6% over the previous year. This is the result of two consecutive years of production cuts. Growth afterwards.
China, India and the United States once again rank among the top three in global casting production. Casting production in India fell by 1.5%, the United States fell by 13.7%, followed by Russia, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey, and Brazil. The output of the world’s top ten casting production countries is shown in Figure 1.
The new member participating in this census is Indonesia. According to data from the Indonesian Foundry Industry Association (APLINDO), the output of castings in Indonesia in 2020 will be 589,779 tons, mainly aluminum alloy castings.
The global casting production census data is provided by the casting associations of various countries or regions, the World Foundry Organization, and the European Foundry Association.
