On January 5th, Wuhan Economic Development Zone and Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. signed an investment agreement. Dongfeng Honda’s new energy plant project settled in the China Auto Valley, and Wuhan built a trillion-level automobile industry cluster to add new momentum.

Wuhan Economic Development Zone Working Committee Deputy Secretary and District Mayor Tang Chao and Dongfeng Honda General Manager Natsume also signed an investment agreement.
In his speech, Cheng Yongwen said that Wuhan is rushing to seize the new outlets of “electricity, informatization, intelligence, and sharing” of the automobile industry, speeding up the construction of a national new energy and intelligent networked automobile base, and building a world-class automobile industry cluster. The successful settlement of Dongfeng Honda’s new energy plant project will inject new impetus into the high-quality development of Wuhan’s automobile industry.
It is reported that Dongfeng Honda New Energy Plant is Honda’s first new energy benchmark plant in the world, and will provide strong support for Dongfeng Honda’s transition to electrification. Dongfeng Honda’s new energy plant project has a total investment of about 10 billion yuan and a planned production capacity of 256,000 units. After completion, it will have a complete process for electric vehicle production, and will introduce the latest automation technology in welding and final assembly processes, aiming to become an industry leader Digital factory.
The new factory will also be a green factory, making full use of renewable energy such as solar power to help achieve carbon peak and carbon neutral goals. In addition, the new plant will also adopt measures such as water recycling and reuse to save resources, minimize the emission of air pollutants, and actively promote sustainable development.
