Depth of Flanders: The leader of the automotive steel logistics supply chain, cutting into the aluminum die-casting track

Third-party steel logistics supply chain enterprises, rapid release of automotive sheet processing capacity

The steel used in my country’s automobile industry accounts for about 5% of the total steel consumption. In 2020, the steel consumption of my country’s automobile industry is 52.5 million tons. Steel plates account for more than 50% of automobile steel, and the steel consumption in the automobile industry accounts for about 70% of the total weight of automobiles. The pricing model of automobile steel logistics is generally “substrate price + comprehensive service fee”.

The company mainly provides complete steel logistics supply chain services for mid-to-high-end automotive, home appliance and other industries or their supporting manufacturers. The downstream automotive steel industry revenue accounts for 60%. According to estimates, the company’s market share in the automotive steel industry in 2020 will be about 7.5% %, the industry position has a significant advantage.

The company’s business model is “determining production based on sales”, and implements a “many-to-many” supply chain system. It has nine processing centers, with a processing capacity of 1 million tons of automotive sheets. The new production capacity of the fundraising project is 715,000 tons, and it will be launched in 2021. It has been put into production in half a year, and the production capacity is in the climbing period. In addition, the company plans to invest 300 million yuan to build a new energy vehicle sheet processing project in Anhui, with a construction period of 18 months.

Relying on the advantages of industrial clusters, fixed increase cuts into the aluminum alloy die-casting track

Aluminum alloy is the most widely used automotive lightweight material, replacing steel can reduce the weight of the vehicle by 30%-40%. The penetration rate of aluminum alloy die-casting parts of the power system is higher than 90%. Under the trend of lightweight and integrated die-casting, the penetration rate of chassis and body is expected to increase year by year.

The company plans to invest 480 million yuan to build a new energy vehicle aluminum die-casting production base project in Anhui. With the help of upstream aluminum resources (strategic cooperative enterprise Nanshan Aluminum) and downstream customer resources, relying on the advantages of industrial clusters and customers, it will cut into the aluminum die-casting track. The project construction period is 24 months, and the company has purchased three sets of die-casting islands and surrounding supporting equipment of 3,500 tons, 4,200 tons and 6,200 tons respectively.

In July 2021, the company and Yawei jointly released the laser blanking technology. The material utilization rate is more than 10% higher than that of stamping blanking on average, and no mold is required, which reduces the cost and enables flexible blanking production.
